Auburn Gives Victory a Taste of Defeat, 109-67

Auburn got their season off to a high-scoring start in front of a sparse crowd on Monday night against Victory University, putting up 109 points to the Eagles' 67 points.

Five Tigers scored in double-digits, led by Chris Denson with 21, Tahj Shamsid-Deen with 16, Benas Griciunas with 15, and Asauhn Dixon-Tatum and KT Harrell with 14. Chris Griffin led the Tigers in rebounding with 8 total rebounds, and Malcolm Canada had the most assists with 9.

Every Auburn player logged minutes except for Matthew Atewe, who was seen wearing a boot on the sideline during the game. This is apparently just a precautionary measure, as Atewe is expected to be back in action later this week.

Auburn will play one more exhibition game this week, taking on the Paine College Lions this Friday, November 1 at 7 pm CT. The Tigers officially start the season against the Nicholls State Colonels next Friday, November 8 at 7 pm CT.
