The rest of the Tigers' scoring was a little more spread out, with the next two leading scorers being Asauhn Dixon-Tatum with 8 and Malcolm Canada with 7. Dixon-Tatum led in rebounding with 8 boards, followed by Dion Wade with 6. Dixon-Tatum also had a big night in terms of blocks, swatting 4 of the Colonels' attempts.
Malcolm Canada had a solid night with 7 points (Kyle Taylor) |
Auburn led for the entire game, with Nicholls State keeping it close early before being buried by 14-2 run in the second half. The Tigers shot the ball well, making 48% of their field goals and 27% from behind the arc. Auburn also hit a solid 68% of their free throws.
Overall, the Tigers looked solid on both sides of the ball, as they should have against a weak opponent like Nicholls State. There were some issues with defense and rebounding, but with a full week between games Auburn will have plenty of time to sort those out.
As always, feel free to leave comments below and stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to Auburn's matchup with Northwestern State this Friday!
We just have to hope CD3 doesn't pull his Dwayne Wade impersonation too often, or else we wont have him all year...
ReplyDeleteAbout how many students were at the game?
ReplyDeleteProbably around 1000. The student section wasn't full but it was mostly full. It's been that way most of the season.
